It's Miller Time for Claymores

THE CLAYMORES have toasted their latest club signing after teaming up with American brewing giants Miller Beer as a major sponsor for their 2004 NFL Europe League season.

Miller Beer - Scotland's favourite American beer - will partner Scotland's favourite American football team and the club's famous cheerleaders, supplying Miller Beer at the Claymores five home games at the National Stadium, Hampden Park during the club's 2004 European NFL season.

Miller Beer will be available at the Claymores famous pre-game party - which will be taking place inside Hampden Park for the first time this season - and features top chart acts including Girls Aloud, Jamelia, D-Side, Speedway and Darius.

The Miller Scottish Claymores Cheerleaders will be presented for the first time during the opening home match, with the Claymores cheerleaders wearing the Miller brand on their uniforms and also taking a 'Miller Time Out' during the third quarter to appear as the Miller Girls.

A special Miller Zone will be established inside the stadium at Hampden, which will provide beer to fans during the pre-game show as well as an interactive seating area where fans can get close to the cheerleaders and enjoy the fun during the Miller Time Out. Fans will also have the chance to win Miller Beer for a year by buying a Miller Beer at the game.

The cheerleaders will also team up with Miller during the season to make appearances in bars and nightclubs around Scotland to promote Miller Beer and the Claymores games.

Miller have also provided backing and association for the cheerleaders team card which is made available free to all Claymores fans featuring the 2004 Miller Cheerleaders and the famous Miller logo.

DAVE PATTMAN, Marketing Manager for Miller Beer in Scotland, welcomed teaming up with the Claymores, and said: "As Scotland's favourite American beer, we are delighted to be teaming up with the Claymores for the 2004 NFL Europe League season.

"We are looking forward to delivering all of their beer needs for the year and partnering with the Claymores cheerleaders in joint promoting the Claymores home games and Miller Beer."

"We are also looking forward to supporting Miller Beer promotion in association with our cheerleaders and we will be introducing a special Miller Zone - a section of special seating at Hampden - as well as introducing the Miller Girls during the third quarter at our home games this year."

Miller is Scotland's favourite American beer with Scots drinking approximately 400,000 pints of Miller brands everyday.

Teaming up with the Scottish Claymores comes on the back Miller's association with other high profile events in Glasgow inluding headline sponsorship of both the Glasgow International Comedy Festival 17th March to 3rd April 2004 and The Download Festival Glasgow Green 2nd & 3rd June 2004 which will see Metallica, Linkin Park and a host of other top rock acts appearing in the centre of Glasgow.
