The wait is over : Cheerleaders 2004 Squad announced
The wait is over. On Sunday October 19 the final Scottish Claymores Cheerleader squad was announced for the 2004 season.![]() The 2004 Squad |
Over 150 people turned out to cheer on the cheerleader hopefuls and they took to the stage and danced their hearts out to fight for one of 24 spots on the team. There were laughs, tears and excitement as veteran cheerleaders battled with newcomers for the coveted places.
The celebrity judges were blown away at the level of talent on show and it was a difficult task to separate the contestants and make the final cuts.
Scots SM:TV presenter Des Clarke was mighty impressed. "I was amazed by the talent I saw here today. Not only could these girls dance, but they could leap through the air like acrobats and sing too."

In the end, 24 squad members and 3 reserves were taken from the group. Training will start immediately for the 2004 season and the girls will have to learn more than 30 routines before they take to the field next April.
