Speaking from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Tynes said: "It was an interesting start to the season, if a little bizarre. I had a chance to equal the NFL record with a 63-yard kick just before half-time but it came up short.
"The refs called a defensive penalty as we were going into the locker room and we all had to come out again with the band and everything on the field. Once we got the field cleared, I had a chance to kick a 58-yarder but it was no good, although I am thankful that I was able to make amends with a 50-yarder later in the game.
"We were disappointed to lose our opener and the team are focused on turning that around this Sunday."
Looking ahead to the big game, Lawrence said: "I'm obviously excited about our opening home game. It's a big game for us to get back on track and Arrowhead will have a great atmosphere. I'm really confident in my ability and I know that if it comes down to it, I'll be able to make a game-winning kick."
LT knows he'll be roared on from all of the Claymores fans and his extended family in Scotland. He said: "I've been aware of all the good wishes, great support and interest from everyone in Scotland. My family are thrilled for me and my story seems to have got a lot of interest in the papers back in Scotland.
"I'd just like to thank everyone for their good wishes and support. I know the game is being shown live on Sky Sports and I'll be thinking of everyone watching in Scotland and the UK. I just want them to enjoy the game and wear something red in supporting the Chiefs!"
